ENG > In Italy until the late twentieth century it was quite common among older men and women to use expressions such as: “that person is from 15/18, you are from 15/18, a thing from 15/18”, to define or indicate something or someone as old-fashioned, belonging to another era. Originally the epithet referred – with abundant clarity – to completely unsuccessful people or businesses. It could have been used in substance to call loser one person or another, to indicate an adventure with very little chance of success, to announce a disaster. Well, if the 15/18 members were born in Italy at the beginning of the twentieth century at the advent of the great war they would have deserted, they would have gone loose in the woods, they would have hidden in a cave to develop a weapon. A neuronal wave bomb capable of inducing in the minds of all the involved soldiers an effect not very dissimilar to what would have caused the simultaneous appearance in every fields and skies of an UFO or Jesus Christ in person.
Amazement and emotion would have been the prevailing feelings in those men. Feelings that would have made them hostile to war, hostile to warlords, hostile to the dominance of man over man. The chamber primitive music of 15-18 could save the world. Join us, armed with an instrument … knowing how to play will be the last of your problems.

On a quiet Sunday of June 2015, on the hills of Palermo, Nicola Greco, Pietro Palazzo, Domenico Salamone, Federico Cardaci and Marc De Dieux play and record what some years later will be the material of the first official album of 15-18, “Back to 14-18”. And so, for the centennial of Caporetto battle, “Back to 14-18” comes out on Janury 2, 2018 for the mini-label DeDieux / \ SuccoAcido, distributed in Italy by Audioglobe.
“Back to 14-18” has in the meantime assumed a dramaturgical form and, while waiting to fly to the most off-stage of the peninsula, the work is currently in a theatre workshop phase in a place that looks more like a bunker than a stage.
You certainly will not desire to be unprepared: this is “primitive chamber music” and the 15-18 are its soldiers.

Stupore e commozione sarebbero stati i sentimenti prevalenti in quegli uomini.
